Ohio Passes Remote Online Notarization Bill

December 13, 2018

Ohio joins Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia with laws explicitly allowing the practice. The bill follows the key principles of the ALTA-MBA model. The Ohio Land Title Association plans to add an amendment in early 2019 that modifies the paper-out option for counties without electronic recording capabilities.
