AmTrust Names Underwriting Counsel in Pennsylvania

June 12, 2018

AmTrust Title Insurance Co. named Karen G. Gutman, an underwriter with more than three decades of experience in the title industry, as vice president and underwriting counsel in Pennsylvania.

Gutman will provide legal underwriting support and expertise to company personnel, agents and customers on real estate closings and title insurance matters. She will help resolve title issues, and facilitate the issuance of title commitments and policies, while minimizing company risk.

“We are fortifying our legal team in Pennsylvania, and Karen’s background, astute underwriting skills and industry knowledge will significantly enhance the capabilities of our team,” said Jason Gordon, president of AmTrust Title. “We are delighted to welcome her aboard as we grow our brand in the Northeast.”

Just prior to joining AmTrust Title, Gutman was assistant vice president and Pennsylvania agency underwriting counsel for Philadelphia-based Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company/Chicago Title insurance Company. Before that, she held a number of title-related posts for several companies in the Philadelphia/Princeton region, including PNC Real Estate and United General Title Insurance Company.
