American Land Title Association Statement on Brian Montgomery Nomination to Lead FHA

Washington, DC, September 13, 2017 — Washington, D.C., September 13, 2017 — The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, released the following statement regarding President Trump's nomination of Brian Montgomery to serve as Commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration and HUD Assistant Secretary:

“ALTA commends the nomination of Brian Montgomery to lead the Federal Housing Administration, and encourage the Senate to act quickly on the confirmation as our country faces significant challenges rebuilding many communities devastated by the recent hurricanes,” said Michelle Korsmo, ALTA’s chief executive officer. “Having held this position previously for four years, Brian understands FHA’s vital role in developing programs that help Americans and first-time homebuyers attain homeownership. Brian has a keen sense of consumer needs and the vision for regulations that helps businesses serve consumers fairly.”
