North American Title Group Names Regional Counsel for California

North American Title Group LLC (NATG) has named Suzette Torres as vice president and regional counsel for California. She will provide legal and underwriting support to North American Title Company Inc. (NATC) branches throughout the state, as well as underwriting support to North American Title Insurance Company agents.
"Suzette's comprehensive experience will be of immense benefit to our managers and associates, as they address the challenging legal, regulatory, title and underwriting matters that are so much a part of their day-to-day work," said Dia Demmon, NATC regional president. "Her career focus on title insurance has covered the breadth of title and escrow, claims, bankruptcy, contract negotiation and trials, including writing several appellate briefs. We know she will be a valuable asset and a great resource to our California team."
Prior to joining NATG, Torres was with another national underwriter, first as vice president/trial counsel and most recently as vice president/underwriting counsel based in San Francisco. Formerly, she was a partner at Bardellini, Straw, Cavin & Bupp LLP, where her practice included resolving title and escrow claims, negotiating business disputes, managing contract negotiations, trials and handling several adversary proceedings in bankruptcy.
