Alabama County e-Records Its First Document

March 13, 2014

E-recording in Mobile County, Ala., officially commenced last week as the Mobile County Probate Court recorded its first electronic document—a mortgage amendment—submitted through Simplifile.

“We’re excited to have been the first to e-record a document with Mobile County and know our customers have been anxious to be able to e-record with the probate office. It provides them with a much more convenient, efficient recording option that saves them a significant amount of time and money,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “Our goal as an e-recording provider is to make the overall process faster, simpler, and more cost-effective for everyone.”

Mobile County is the fourth Alabama recording jurisdiction to make Simplifile’s e-recording service available, joining Elmore, Montgomery and Shelby counties, as well as over 1,030 recording jurisdictions nationwide that make up Simplifile’s largest and fastest-growing e-recording network.
