The Docket: Federal District Court Rules Insurer Owes Common Law Duty to the Insured

September 27, 2012

A majority of states have concluded that title insurers have no common law duty to the insured, however a federal district court's ruling in MacDonald v. Old Republic came to the opposite conclusion. Read on for details.
