Accounting Board Drops Litigation Disclosure Requirement Proposal

On July 9, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) voted to drop its proposal to require companies using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles—usually just the publically traded companies—to provide more detailed disclosure of expected litigation losses.
