Lifetime TV to Feature Title Industry
April 25, 2012
ALTA partnered with Lifetime's Designing Spaces TV show to explain to consumers the value of title insurance and the closing process.
The five-minute segment titled "Protecting Your Best Investment: Knowledge is Power," which features ALTA Past President Anne Anastasi of Genesis Abstract and ALTA member Marlen Rodriguez of Universal Land Title, will appear at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) Thursday.
“Homeowners invest their time and money to make their home beautiful and functional, it’s important they protect that investment,” said Michelle Korsmo, chief executive officer of ALTA. “By partnering with Designing Spaces, we’re hoping to help current and potential homeowners better understand how an Owner’s Policy of Title Insurance protects their homeownership, and give them peace of mind they deserve.”
Since the show is expected to reach over a million potential and current homebuyers, it represents one of the biggest chances we’ve had to make our case to the general public. With continued marketing, we can reach millions more. ALTA will send a link to the video so you can link to it on your website or in your emails. You can also post the link to your social media sites. There may be many more creative ways to use the segment. Please let us know how you think the video can be used to promote our great industry. Email your suggestions to Jeremy Yohe, ALTA’s director of communications. We also want your feedback on the segment, so send your comments as well.
ALTA is holding a viewing party at its D.C. office to watch the broadcast and we encourage you to do the same. You can email photos of your office viewing party watching the segment to firstname.lastname@example.org. Photos will appear in TitleNews, TitleNews Online and on ALTA’s Facebook page.
You can also post comments to our Facebook page. And if you decide to comment via Twitter, use the hashtag #lifetitle.
The segment is scheduled to repeat June 8.
The project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of other ALTA members, including Lisy Velaquez of Old Republic for letting us use her Margate, Fla., home to shoot the moving scene, and Julie Susik and the rest of the Old Republic employees for letting us use their Deerfield, Fla., office space to film the closing.
