Electrical Shutdown May Impact ALTA Phone, Access to Website

October 14, 2011

Every three years, the District of Columbia requires a test of the electrical system of the building where ALTA’s office is located.

To perform the test, electrical power will be turned off after close of business on Friday, Oct. 14.

Because of this, ALTA’s website and phones may be unavailable for a period of time on Saturday, Oct. 15. In case of an emergency and you need to contact ALTA staff, you may leave a voicemail at 202-695-2371 or send an email to altaservicecenter@gmail.com.

The testing is performed as a preventive measure to ensure issues are detected before they potentially become more serious. We are told the entire test typically takes eight hours unless repairs are necessary. At the most, the duration of the test should last 12 hours.

Contact ALTA at 202-296-3671 or communications@alta.org.
