MISMO Governance Elects New Members

March 9, 2010

MISMO's annual Governance Committee elected new members in January during the Trimester Workgroup Meeting in Jacksonville, Fla. Joining the committee are Shawn Jobe from Kroll Factual Data as Credit Reporting representative, and Mercedes Vela of First American Real Estate Services as Service Provider representative. New member Harry Gardner of Signia Docs was elected chair, and Mark Ladd of PRIA was elected vice-chair, replacing Ron Duff of Fiserv and Nancee Gorenstein respectively. Duff and Gorenstein served for the past three years. Fiserv and MGIC have been represented on the Residential Governance Committee since MISMO's inception in 2000, and replacing them are Norwood Sloan II of Fiserv, and Kyle Bensen of MGIC. The Residential Governance Committee presented Duff and Gorenstein with a plaque in appreciation of their dedicated service to MISMO, and extended best wishes to Gorenstein who will retire from MGIC in April.

The Residential Governance Committee represents a cross-section of the real estate finance industry and provides oversight for MISMO's administration and policy development. The Residential Governance Committee consists of 18 MISMO subscriber organizations that serve two-year terms, with half of seats up for election each year. The chair and vice-chair of the committee are elected annually.

The Title Insurance Workgroup met during the meeting and is working on several initiatives, including a joint project with the Origination Workgroup to update the Closing data set mappings for the 2010 HUD Settlement Statement in MISMO Version 2.6. Those efforts will be also leveraged by the eMortgage Workgroup and migrate to Version 3.0.
