Before joining Long & Foster, Detwiler was the chief production officer of the Institutional Mortgage Services Group for Countrywide Home Loans. He led three divisions: correspondent lending, warehouse lending, and landsafe origination services.

“He brings extensive industry experience and expanded competencies to our growing company,” said Wes Foster Jr., chairman of the Chantilly company. “With a recent uptick in housing sales and our other products and services, and a highly skilled executive team, we are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.”

Sojourners Title Agency

George W. Tolliver II was named general counsel for Sojourners Title Agency LLC, an affiliate of Cincinnati, Ohio-based Reisenfeld & Associates LPA, LLC.

Prior to joining Sojourners Title, Tolliver was a partner at Tolliver & Epley, located in Dayton, Ohio. As a partner, he reviewed, drafted, and negotiated real estate transactions, including residential and commercial purchases, sales, leases, and exchanges.

Tolliver represented local real estate brokers, developers, investors, and shopping center landlords and tenants in real estate legal matters. He also trained paralegals on the essentials of real estate practice, document generations, and deed preparation, and monitored the firm’s finances.

While with Tolliver & Epley, Tolliver also acted as general counsel for TitleQuest Agency, where he oversaw all legal and title concerns, including the review of title abstracts and any potential corrective actions. He performed more than 1,500 real estate closings for residential and commercial sales and conducted company training seminars on various legal issues affecting real estate titles.

Tolliver began his legal career as an associate attorney with Gottschlich and Portune, a general practice law firm in Dayton. In this capacity, he handled real estate, estate planning, corporate formation, and other civil matters. Tolliver was also instrumental in orchestrating the start-up of a new title insurance agency.

Currently, Tolliver serves as an adjunct instructor at Sinclair Community College for real estate law classes on topics including types of real property ownership interests, basic contract law, the essentials of real estate purchase/lease agreements, and the structure of the American judicial system. Tolliver graduated from the University of Dayton in 1998, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. He later earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2001 and was admitted to the Ohio State Bar.
