Dixie Land Title Association and Louisiana Land Title Association Adopts Principles of Fair Conduct

January 10, 2008

The Dixie Land Title Association and the Louisiana Land Title Association adopted the Principles of Fair Conduct at their respective December board meetings. They join 14 other land title associations: Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The Principles of Fair Conduct are a part of ALTA's Title Industry Consumer Initiative - a multi-faceted strategy for improving oversight of the industry and educating and protecting consumers. These state affiliates will inform their members through newsletters and meetings to help spread the word about the Initiative and Principles of Fair Conduct and encourage members to adopt them in their own title companies.

Has your company or state land title association adopted the Principles yet? To learn more about the Title Industry Consumer Initiative and how you can get involved, please contact Ed Miller at ed@alta.org or James Cox at james@alta.org.
