Company pursues several Hispanic initiatives

The Houston offices of Fidelity National Title have teamed up to provide Spanish-speaking consumers with Micasaenhouston.com, a Web site created completely in Spanish to explain the real estate process to Hispanic consumers.

"Purchasing a home can be overwhelming no matter what language you speak, but trying to understand such a complicated process in another language can make it even more challenging," said Warren Miller, executive vice president and county manager of Fidelity's Houston Division, in a statement.

The new Web site educates visitors on various aspects of the home buying process, including the role of Realtors and real estate agents, the importance of credit and the role of a title company. It also provides an English-Spanish glossary defining real estate terms.

"This type of fundamental information about the real estate transaction is important, given that real estate transactions in other countries differ greatly from the United States," said Oscar Gonzales, president of the Gonzales Group.

Micasaenhouston.com is one of many Hispanic initiatives Fidelity National Title Houston is currently putting into place. Fidelity claims to be the first title company in Houston to open a bilingual Hispanic office. In addition, Fidelity staffed a bilingual closer at more than half of their 14 Houston-area locations.

Fidelity National Financial Inc. is a provider of products and outsourced services and solutions to financial institutions and the real estate industry. FNF is the nation's largest title insurance company, with nearly 32 percent national market share.
