Midland Title Companies Re-Branded as First American Title

CLEVELAND -- The Midland Title Group of Companies -- including Midland Title, Midland Celtic Title, Midland Commerce Group and Colonial Title -- has announced that those companies are changing their names and graphic identities to a single brand: First American Title Insurance Company. First American Title Insurance Company, which has owned the Ohio-based Midland Title Group of Companies since 1986, is the largest subsidiary of The First American Corporation (NYSE:FAF - News) and the second largest title insurer in the nation. The change to First American's global identity will allow the Midland Title companies to benefit from the widely known and highly regarded First American name. The re-branding effort is expected to be complete by June 30, 2005.
"Adopting the First American identity is integral to our company's growth in Ohio," said Mike Koors, vice president and Ohio operations manager for First American Title. "It provides a single, cohesive representation of our company to the many people we come into contact with every day, including property owners and purchasers, real estate firms, agents and financial institutions. We want them to know that we're part of a very large corporation with a 116-year heritage of insuring property transactions and providing information services with insight and integrity."
The Midland Title Group of Companies was established in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1955. Since 1992, this group has consistently ranked first in Ohio title insurance sales, according to annual statements filed with the Ohio Department of Insurance. Through its 40 offices and 450 employees throughout the state, the Midland Title Group offers real estate transaction services and business-building services for real estate agents and brokers.
