Compliance Webinar: Claims Trends in the Title Industry

While a zero-claims world would be ideal, it’s unfortunately part of doing business. A strong real estate market the past several years led to a rather stable loss rate but the current COVID-19 crisis is already challenging that claims stability. Certain claims always tend to percolate and cause issues for the industry during financial downturns and underwriters are starting to raise loss provision rates in anticipation of a spike in claims spurred by current economic conditions. Register for this webinar to hear a senior underwriter discuss the latest claims trends and detail potential claims that could challenge your business. You’ll gain a better understanding of the top pitfalls and what you can do to avoid them.

Presenter(s):

  • Leonard Prescott | Vice President and Regional Underwriting Director | First American Title Insurance Co.

Compliance Webinar: Claims Investigation

While we wish we lived in a world with no claims, it’s a part of doing business. When a claim does arise, it’s important for your operation to have policies and procedures in place to know how to respond to claims that could challenge your business. This presentation provides a brief overview of key terms and conditions in a policy that often affect coverage and investigations into coverage, what to do when a claim is made and during the pendency of the claim, and how coverage on a claim is afforded and on what terms. You'll get insights and tips on how to resolve these challenging situations.

Presenter(s):

  • Michael O’Donnell | Partner | Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti LLP
