Network Governance

The Title Action Network (Network) operates exclusively to promote the common business interests of the title insurance industry through grassroots advocacy. The Network advances the policy agendas of both ALTA and state land title associations through coordinated grassroots efforts and is governed by a Steering Committee of ALTA leadership, state land title association leadership and stakeholders across the country.

The seven-member Steering Committee is responsible for assisting in the formulation, implementation and execution of the Network’s grassroots activities in furtherance of ALTA’s advocacy agenda. The Steering Committee shall meet in person at least twice per year during the Annual Convention and Federal Conference. The Committee also meets periodically by conference call.

The Committee consists of a chair, the chair of the Abstracters & Title Insurance Agents Committee, chair of the Title Insurance Underwriters Section Committee, president from a Land Title Association appointed by ALTA president, Land Title Association staff member appointed by ALTA president, chair of the Title Insurance Political Action Committee and ALTA’s chief executive officer to serve as director/secretary. The Committee also will hold an annual election to select least three at-large members. Each Network member in good standing shall have one vote in this election, which may take place at the ALTA Annual Convention or at a properly convened General Network Meeting. The term of each Steering Committee member shall be one-year. No Steering Committee member shall serve more than four consecutive one-year terms.

No dues are required to participate in the Network.
