First American Escrow Ops Manager Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award

December 17, 2009

Patty Beverly, vice president, escrow operations manager and Southern California regional escrow director for First American’s National Commercial Services office in Santa Ana, Calif., has been selected as the first recipient of the Orange County Escrow Association’s new Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her significant commitment and contributions to the progression of the escrow industry.

Beverly was selected based on her promotion of education in escrow, strength in leadership of the organization and mentorship to her peers in the profession. In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, Beverly was also presented with the association’s Distinguished Service Award, which is the third time she has received that honor since the award’s inception in 1980.

Beverly began her career in 1976 as a messenger, quickly graduated to an escrow officer and went on to gain extensive experience with a number of Southern California escrow companies. In 1989, she opened her own independent escrow company, which she operated until it was acquired by a large national title insurance underwriter in 1991. Beverly then went on to manage the commercial division for that underwriter until 1993, followed by 13 years as part of the management team of another large title underwriter before joining First American in 2006.

Beverly has been a member of the American Escrow Association and Orange County Escrow Association since 1976 and is also a member of the California Escrow Association. She served on the board of directors of the California Escrow Association from 1989 to 1997 and as president in 1996. She has also chaired numerous committees for the Orange County Escrow Association and has served as its president in 1989 and 2009. Beverly is also a passionate supporter of the Humane Society and also has served on the board of directors for Childhelp USA.
