Stewart bolsters eMortgage team

September 22, 2009

Stewart Lender Services (SLS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Title Company, has announced two executive appointments to help the company expand its participation in the growing eMortgage market. Marvin Stone joins SLS as Senior Vice President -- Strategic Projects and Laurie Pyle expands her role as chief information officer to include eCommerce and eMortgage leadership.

Stone joins SLS from Stewart Title Guaranty's Agency Services Division where he was responsible for the technology that helps improve the success of Stewart affiliates and agencies through the use of best-in-class technologies such as SureClose. Prior to joining Stewart, Stone served as vice president and chief information officer for LandAmerica-New Century Title. There, he directed national teams of project management and outsourced development firms that developed and promoted systems serving the real estate and lending segments. In his new role, Stone will be responsible for various strategic technology projects within SLS including overseeing the direction of Stewart's eClosingRoom technology deployment and implementation.

Pyle is currently responsible for the overall technology needs of Stewart Lender Services.

In her expanded role she will oversee the eMortgage and eClosing strategy, and manage software development, technical infrastructure and client implementation/consulting services for the eMortgage solution. Pyle, who had previously served as senior vice president of technology for SLS, has more than 15 years experience managing technology operations, implementation and consulting. Before joining SLS, Pyle served in a key executive role within First American and prior to that was also one of the original executives responsible for the development and growth of RealEC Technologies.

Stewart, already a recognized leader in the eMortgage market, added the senior leaders in recognition of the growth of eMortgages and the opportunities for increased market participation. Their experience and market intelligence will help improve service to existing customers while enabling Stewart to seize emerging opportunities.

"Laurie and Marvin both bring to the Stewart organization a wealth of experience developing and deploying innovative industry solutions. They make a powerful team and provide us the expanded leadership capabilities we've needed for our eMortgage services," said Jason Nadeau, president of Stewart Lender Services. "As eMortgage solutions move from the laboratory to the production floor, we needed executives who have real life experience developing and deploying technologies that will change our industry."

Pyle and Stone will both be based at SLS headquarters in Houston.
