HUD Economist Questions Effectiveness of RESPA

May 8, 2007

In an article written by HUD economist Mark D. Shroder, the efficacy of RESPA as a disclosure statute is examined. The author claims there has been a paucity of study done on RESPA issues, and because of the limited sample size he relies on, deeper studies should be made. The author questions whether RESPA is effective, and that it may be a law whose time has past. Read the paper.
