Landamerica Makes fortune 500 List

March 24, 2004

Richmond, Virginia - LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG), a leading provider of real estate transaction services, today announced that for the first time it has been listed among the top 500 companies in the United States, ranked according to revenue in the annual survey taken by FORTUNE magazine.

LandAmerica’s annual revenue for 2003 was $3.4 billion positioning the Company as 483rd on the list. Additionally, LandAmerica ranked 35th out of the 50 companies identified as "fastest growing" based on one-year revenues.

"With its ranking on the prestigious FORTUNE 500 list, LandAmerica has proven that we have the vision and the fortitude to excel," said Charles H. Foster, Chairman and CEO.

Earlier this month in its issue dated March 8, 2004, FORTUNE named LandAmerica to its list of most admired companies.

"We are extremely proud of both breaking into the FORTUNE 500 and being named to their list of most admired companies. This reflects well on the success of our strategies for growth, the quality of our employees, and their dedication to our growth as a premier provider of real estate transaction services,” says Foster.
