Police have arrested a Costa Mesa man after he allegedly posed as a real estate agent and tried to sell a residential property to which he had no connection.

Daniel Gallimore, 52, was arrested Friday after he falsely presented himself as the listing agent for the property, Huntington Beach police said, adding that Gallimore is not licensed as a real estate agent.

The case originated in Huntington Beach, but police took Gallimore into custody in Costa Mesa and served search warrants there as well.

The Orange County District Atty.’s office major fraud and real estate unit helped investigate the case along with the U.S. Secret Service.

Police say they arrested Gallimore on an outstanding grand theft warrant. That warrant stems from a theft worth almost $5,000 in June, according to court documents.

Gallimore is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail at Orange County Jail.

No further details about the case are being released at this time, police said.
