ALTA CEO Joins Dynamic Panel of Speakers at Annual SoftPro User Group Conference

February 6, 2014

SoftPro, a national provider of title, closing and escrow software, revealed its panel of speakers for its 15th Annual User Group Conference to be held April 2-4 at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort in Fort Myers, Fla.

The conference will kick off with a keynote address from Rudy Ruettiger, the inspiration behind Rudy, the Notre Dame Football Story. Against all odds on a gridiron in South Bend, Ind., Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger in 27 seconds carved his name into history books as perhaps the most famous graduate of the University of Notre Dame. As fans cheered RU-DY, RU-DY, he sacked the quarterback in the last 27 seconds of the only play of his college football career. He is the first and one of only two players in the school’s history to be carried off the field on his teammates’ shoulders. In his keynote address, Rudy will talk about defining your dream and mission, working through struggles, and achieving success and inspiring others.

“Millions of people have been inspired by the movie, Rudy, and the opportunity for SoftPro customers to hear Rudy’s story first-hand is very exciting,” said Patrick Hempen, SoftPro’s executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Michelle Korsmo, chief executive officer of the American Land Title Association will also speak on “Meeting the Demands of an Evolving Marketplace.” Korsmo’s presentation will discuss how regulatory pressure and risk management are changing the way real estate transactions are conducted. Her discussion will highlight ALTA’s Best Practices framework, which provides a standard assessment of title insurance and settlement companies for use in the marketplace. Korsmo will also talk about the current regulatory environment in the title industry, and the lender and title industry responses.

Paul Meshanko, president and CEO of Legacy Business Cultures will address the conference with his presentation, “Connecting with Respect.” Meshanko will discuss why creating a work environment that allows each person to do his or her very best work is now one of the most important competencies that any organization can master. Being able to skillfully deploy the right attitudes and behaviors, including our words, to positively affect those around us is a critical skill set not just for work, but for life in general.

“We are thrilled to have such a distinct panel of speakers for our User Group Conference,” Hempen said. “We are especially eager to have Michelle Korsmo address SoftPro’s users on ALTA’s Best Practices in light of the many new regulations facing our industry.”

In addition to the speaker sessions, conference attendees may select from a variety of hands-on computer instruction as well as expert and panel-led discussion. Online registration is open to users on all SoftPro platforms. Deadline to register is March 3.
