Lend a Helping Hand: Oklahoma Tornado Relief
|May 28, 2013|
As we watch the coverage of the tornadoes that hit Moore, Oklahoma, our thoughts go quickly to our friends and neighbors in the abstracting and title business.
To assist our industry friends, the Oklahoma Land Title Association (OLTA) is accepting financial donations.
Individuals may donate through this PayPal link or by sending a pledged amount to Kathy Fields-Smith with OLTA at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you want to make a pledge, email Kathy your pledge amount and then send a check to: Oklahoma Land Title Association, PO Box 1544, Oklahoma City, OK 73101. OLTA will use the pledge information to disburse funds based upon the cumulative amount pledged instead of delaying for the actual arrival of checks. OLTA is willing to provide an invoice if you wish to process your pledge through your corporate accounts payable system. Please contact Kathy and she can forward you an OLTA invoice.
OLTA informed us that two members of the land title industry suffered complete losses of their homes – one family is with Abstract and Guaranty of Lincoln County and the other family is with American Eagle Title Insurance.
OLTA will use the funds collected to provide gift cards for each of those families to purchase the items they need and will also give part of the funds to the general relief Moore/Shawnee Tornado Fund set up by the Tulsa Community Foundation. Get more information on this fund at http://tulsacf.org/.
