Rogers Townsend Attorney to be Honored By University of South Carolina School Of Law

Cynthia Durham Blair, a shareholder in Rogers Townsend’s Columbia office, will receive a Gold Compleat Lawyer Award from the University of South Carolina School of Law on April 25. The Gold honor is designated for those USC School of Law graduates who have practiced for 16 to 30 years. She also received a Leadership in Law award in 2013 from South Carolina Lawyers Weekly. Blair serves on ALTA’s Executive Committee, Agents & Abstracters Section.

Additionally, Blair served as head of the Rogers Townsend’s Transactional Law Department until 2012, when she was elected to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee. She concentrates her practice in residential real estate transactions including real estate closings, REO (real estate owned), title resolution, mobile home law, contract and loan-document drafting, and buyer and seller representation.

A leader in the legal profession and in the community, Blair chaired the SC Bar Convention Committee and serves on the Bar Ethics Advisory Committee and Real Estate Section Council. She is a member of the Education Committee of the Palmetto Land Title Association, where she is a former president and board member. Blair also is a former President and board member of the Mortgage Lenders Association of Greater Columbia, and served on the board of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. She is a 2012 graduate of Leadership South Carolina.

Blair is a former member of the Leadership Committee for the Go Red for Women Campaign for the American Heart Association and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Columbia, Junior League of Columbia and Carolina Sunshine for Children where she was also a board member. In 2006 she was named Columbia’s Woman of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
