July 29, 2004

Cos. expand predatory lending compliance services

Inman News

Mortgage technology provider AppIntell today announced a partnership with Ellie Mae that will expand loan compliance services offerings within Ellie Mae's ePASS Web transaction platform.

Mortgage originators using Genesis, Contour, Encompass and other loan origination systems connecting to the ePASS portal will now have a direct interface with AppIntell's High Cost Loan Filter and PredProtect, the company's anti-predatory lending compliance tool.

To access HCL and PredProtect users will find links in the ePASS additional vendor services section. This partnering aims to validate loans against every federal, state and local predatory lending law in the country efficiently and inexpensively. The applications provide full APR and points/fees threshold calculations, plus additional jurisdiction-specific tests to determine compliance with applicable laws. Loan-level and enterprise-level reports identify specific violations and provide users with needed information to help them correct loans prior to funding.

AppIntell provides data integrity, fraud prevention, risk assessment and mitigation tools for the residential lending industry.

Dublin, Calif.-based Ellie Mae Inc. is a provider of ePASS, an Internet-transaction portal that connects more than 30,000 mortgage origination companies with their lenders and settlement service providers directly from major desktop loan origination software.
