Bernard E. Schneider Appointed to Board of Directors for First American Trust

SANTA ANA, Calif., /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- First American Trust, a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF - News) family of companies, today announced the appointment of Bernard E. Schneider to its board of directors.

An attorney for nearly 30 years, Schneider had been a partner at McDermott, Will & Emery in Irvine, Calif., from 1993 until entering private practice two years ago. He is the former president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of PNB Financial Group, Inc. and also served as chairman of the board of Pacific National Bank, N.A. and as a member of the board of directors for Western Bancorp. Schneider currently is a member of the management committee and secretary of Petroleum Development Associates, LLC.

Having volunteered countless hours for a number of civic organizations, Schneider's current involvement includes serving on the boards of Taller San Jose, where he is a member of the finance committee, and the Center for the Study of Democracy at the University of California, Irvine. He also is a board member and former chief financial officer of the Anaheim Community Foundation.

Schneider is also actively involved in the political arena and has served on the presidential campaign committees of Gary Hart and Bob Kerry. Additionally, he is a former member of the board of directors and vice chairman of the Orange County Democratic Foundation, and a former member of the United States Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee's Majority Trust.

A member of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association, Schneider holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Whittier College and a juris doctor from the University of Southern California. He and his wife, Janet Keller, currently reside in Corona del Mar and are the parents of five children.
