Title Resource Network Receives Certification to ALTA’s Best Practices

April 5, 2016

Title Resource Network (TRN) recently received certification that it is in compliance with ALTA’s Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices.

Issued by Carr, Riggs, & Ingram LLC (CRI), a national accounting firm and ALTA Elite Provider, the certification demonstrates that TRN has undergone an attestation engagement in accordance with AICPA professional standards.

“We feel very fortunate to have worked with CRI, whose team displayed a thorough knowledge of the seven pillars of ALTA’s Best Practices,” said Dennis Anderson, chief executive officer of TRN. “They worked diligently with our staff to understand the complexities of our network as we navigated the challenges of examining thirty-two offices in seven states. CRI’s appreciation of our complex network fostered a positive examination process, which helped our network ascertain new methods to operate more efficiently and better comply with the Best Practices.”

TRN is a privately-held company that performs title and settlement services in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. TRN’s mission is to provide clients with accurate information and research to complete real estate transactions.

“With the assistance of CRI, TRN is now able to provide our clients with confidence that our policies and procedures comply with ALTA’s Best Practices,” added Dean Hoag, chief operating officer of TRN. “We believe that ALTA’s Best Practices set the industry standard, and that all title companies and settlement agents should adhere to, if not exceed, these recommended policies. TRN’s completion of the ALTA Best Practices Assessment Procedures demonstrates our commitment to evolve with our ever-changing industry and to protect the property rights of our clients. CRI’s certification provides independent verification of our material compliance with ALTA’s Best Practices.”
