Old Republic Title Holding Company Appoints President

Mark Bilbrey, president of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company (ORNTIC), announced the promotion of Carolyn Monroe to president of San Francisco-based Old Republic Title Holding Company (ORTHC) and its subsidiaries. Prior to the promotion, she served as executive vice president of ORNTIC and Southwest Division manager.

Monroe will lead Old Republic Title’s direct and agency operations in the western states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. She succeeds R. Wayne Shupe, who will retire in early 2016 after a long and distinguished career.

Monroe is a 33-year veteran in the title insurance industry. During her career, she has held significant management and leadership positions involving oversight and profitability of numerous offices in the Southwest. She has served as president of the New Mexico NAIOP (a commercial real estate development association) and chairman of the board for both the Albuquerque Economic Development and the Economic Forum. She has been a director of the Texas Land Title Association and is a former president of the New Mexico Land Title Association. She is a member of the American Land Title Association.
