September 9, 2014

Kelly McCarel has joined North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) as its new industry education and research specialist. She will oversee the production of educational offerings and informational materials to assist NATIC agents with compliance issues and business growth opportunities.

McCarel brings 15 years of experience as a communications professional and business-to-business journalist to the position, including five years writing and providing educational materials specifically for the real estate, mortgage and title insurance industries.

“NATIC is fully committed to supporting the independent agent and the best way to do that is to build a team of business athletes who can provide the tools and resources the agents need to thrive in the marketplace,” said Chris Casa, director of marketing and educational programs for NATIC. “Kelly fits that role perfectly. Her experience in content marketing, journalism and industry education is unmatched. Our agents should expect to have the best education tools in the industry at their disposal as a result of her joining the team.”

Most recently, McCarel served as a journalist, editor and seminars director for October Research, LLC, where she wrote for national real estate, mortgage and title industry publications, as well as produced webinars and seminars covering a wide-range of compliance and business-related educational topics. Prior to October Research, she was a communications specialist at Steris Corp. She also spent three years as a legal writer with Ohio Lawyers Weekly and the Cleveland Bar Association.

“With so many moving parts and regulatory burdens, education has become crucial in this industry,” McCarel said. “NATIC has put education and compliance on the forefront and I am happy to be a part of this important effort. As an integral part of NATIC’s marketing and educational programs, I will deliver an array of communication materials and courses through various mediums on topics specific to agency compliance and operations.”
