August 28, 2012

WFG National Title Insurance Co. has retained industry veteran Norman Gutzmer to assist its Texas agencies with underwriting counsel.

Gutzmer will assist WFG National Title’s agency division in Texas with business development and underwriting support. He will provide underwriting assistance, education and support for WFG National Title’s agencies throughout Texas. Gutzmer currently lives in Grand Prairie, Texas, and has been involved in real estate law and title insurance since 1983. He is a partner in the law firm of Miller & Gutzmer Attorneys in Amarillo, Texas, with which he has been associated for 29 years.

From 2005 until 2009, Gutzmer was a division president for the Amarillo division of one of the industry’s largest national underwriters, formerly American Land Title Inc., with offices in Potter, Randall, Swisher, Castro, Hale and Kaufman counties. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in Houston.

“Norman’s diverse background in the Texas title business makes him perfectly suited to be successful as a resource for our agents in both the legal and operating arenas,” said Russell Sugg, senior vice president, agency division Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

Lloyd Draper, senior vice president, agency division for the states of Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma agrees.

“Norman’s experience and willingness to go the extra mile will prove to be a winning combination,” Draper said.
