Long & Foster Names Controller of AfBAs

The Long & Foster Companies, Inc. recently announced the newest addition to the organization. P. Wesley Foster, Jr., chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companieshas selected Darryl Schroeder to serve as controller of affiliated business, a newly created position within the company.

The affiliated businesses Schroeder will serve as controller of include Prosperity Mortgage Co., Walker Jackson Mortgage Corp., Long & Foster Insurance Agency Inc. and Long & Foster Settlement Services.

“We welcome Darryl as controller of our growing affiliated businesses,” said Bruce Enger, SVP and CFO of The Long & Foster Companies. “As our affiliated business services continue to expand and complement the real estate sales operations of our firm, we welcome Darryl’s knowledge and expertise in title, insurance, and mortgage.”

Shroeder comes to The Long & Foster Companies with years of experience from his career at Stewart Title, a provider of title insurance and related services to the real estate and mortgage industries. His distinguished career with Stewart Title began in 1996, where he served as regional controller for a 10-state region in the Midwest. His leadership and expertise were key in expanding the affiliate operating region from six affiliates in 1996 to over 30 in 2006.

After National Land Title Insurance Company in Cleveland, Ohio was purchased by Stewart Title, Schroeder was named CFO and treasurer for this regional underwriter. Most recently, he served as CFO and CIO for Stewart Title Company of Illinois in Addison, Illinois, which is the largest affiliate of the Stewart Title organization.

Schroeder received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1991, and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1998.
