Industry Veteran James J. Dufficy, Joins Stewart Title Guaranty as Vice President

HOUSTON- -- James J. Dufficy, has been named vice president of Stewart Title Guaranty Company (STG) and president of E-Title, a wholly owned subsidiary of STG.

E-Title is managed by Stewart Lender Services (SLS) and is a nationwide provider of mortgage origination and post closing services fulfilling the needs of residential lenders throughout the loan origination, closing, funding and servicing processes. In his new role, Dufficy will be responsible for ensuring the profitable growth of the company while ensuring excellence in operational fulfillment of all title and escrow functions for national residential title services. His responsibilities also include assisting in the design of innovative products and services; the efficient use of internal and external technology; and the coordination of cross-over communication and opportunities in order to meet the needs of centralized residential market segments.

Prior to joining Stewart, Dufficy held various positions with First American Title Insurance Company including regional claims counsel, senior national claims counsel, regulatory counsel and special counsel. In 2005, he was promoted to executive director of Lenders Advantage, (a division of First American Title Insurance Company). As executive director, Dufficy was responsible for setting the division’s overall business strategy and delivering on the annual operational and sales goals established with the company’s executive leadership.

Mr. Dufficy’s background also includes four years as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Dufficy is a member of the Colorado Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S., Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
