Land records hit the Web in Miss. county

June 22, 2006

An update to the county Web site ensures that users can now search, view and print land records dating back to the mid-1990s. They can also search records by legal description, a feature previously unavailable online.

The Madison County, Miss., Chancery Clerk has updated the county’s Web site, http://www.madison-co.com, to let users search, view and print land record filings from the mid-1990s to the present.

They can also search records by legal description, a feature previously unavailable from the county online.

In conjunction with the new Web site land record search tools, the office has completed two phases of a seven-phase “back-scanning” process, which will ultimately mean that all county land records dating back to 1975 will be available online by December 2007.
