There's Still Time to Register for
ALTA's Business Strategies Conference
If you can't make it for the entire 2010 Business Strategies Conference, being held May 2-4 in St. Louis, one-day passes are available. Just take your pick which day best suits your needs, or you can register for the entire conference.
The conference kicks off Sunday night, May 2, with an Exhibit Showcase Opening Reception before a full slate of sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Here's a highlight of the agenda:
Day 1: Thinking Strategically, While Maintaining a Tactical Focus
The opening day general session will feature Pat Stone of Williston Financial Group, Rob Chapman of Old Republic National Title Insurance Co., Cara Detring of LandChoice Co. and Frank Pellegrini of Prairie Title Co. The industry veterans will share leadership traits needed to help your company survive and flourish in this market.
- Plus, attendees can select from 12 different professional development sessions! Check for CE/CLE credit availability.
Day 2: RESPA: How Did We Get Here and What Can You Expect Now?
The second-day general session will feature members of ALTA's RESPA Implementation Taskforce including Gene Aalseth of First American Title Insurance Co., Chris Christensen of PeirsonPatterson, LLP, Wes Lasseigne of Lenders Title Co. and Mary Schuster of RamQuest Software, Inc. The group will provide the latest analysis from HUD in how to handle the new GFE/HUD-1, and also provide insight into how title agents can take advantage of these new settlement forms to capture business.
- Four more professional development sessions will be offered.
- The closing luncheon will feature Baseball Hall of Famer Whitey Herzog, who led the St. Louis Cardinals to a World Series Championship in 1982. The baseball legend is known for his fiery personality whose rules include being on time, busting your butt, playing smart and having some laughs while you're at it.
