What does the new Bankruptcy Law mean to you and your business?
For the first time in a decade, the U. S. Congress is about to change the Federal bankruptcy law. There are several changes in the legislation affecting real estate, including new provisions for single asset bankruptcy, an exemption from the automatic stay to reflect McConville, and revised homestead exemptions.
Whether you have a commercial practice and need to know what’s new, or just need a refresher in the basic title underwriting requirements, you need to be up to date on the new law. ALTA® is inviting real estate bankruptcy and title underwriting experts to discuss the implications of the altered requirements for the title insurance industry.
This telephone seminar will include a call-in segment to answer questions about the new law. Join our bankruptcy expert John A. Gose Washington Special Assistant Attorney General and Janice E. Carpi of LandAmerica to learn how the new law will affect your business. The seminar will be moderated by Ann vom Eigen, ALTA®’s Legislative/Regulatory Counsel.
