Title insurance regulation is becoming more pervasive and will have a profound effect on the future of the industry. Regulatory counsel from the four largest families of national title insurers will discuss current issues in title insurance regulation. From the NAIC to the insurance departments of individual states, title insurance is getting a great deal of attention. Come learn everything you need to know to be prepared to handle these regulatory changes. How we respond could have a significant impact on the future of the title insurance industry.


Part 1: Hot Topic Potpourri: Short Sales, Reverse Mortgages, ABCs

The Education Committee’s "Not-ready-for-Prime-Time-Players" will present the topics in skit form. Each vignette will contain correct and incorrect information, and the audience will try to catch the errors. Speakers will lead the discussion and provide additional guidance on the topics. 25-minutes will be allotted to Short Sales and 25-minutes to Reverse Mortgages. The remaining 15 minutes will challenge the audience by testing their knowledge of acronyms used in the title business. "Acronymania" will include over 30 programs, agencies and terms which every title professional should know.
