Ultima Demonstrates Newest Versions of TitleSearch

March 4, 2003

eTitleSearch and FileStor at ALTA® Tech 2003

HOUSTON - Ultima Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC), will demonstrate the newest versions of its innovative software tools at the ALTA Tech Forum Convention March 9-11 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Ultima's products include: TitleSearch(R), the award-winning document imaging software designed specifically for title plants; eTitleSearch(R), providing the capability to publish land records on the Internet through a secure, e-commerce-capable Web site; and FileStor(R), a single-source document-management solution residing on the desktop.

TitleSearch
Designed specifically for title plant applications, TitleSearch includes powerful features to improve efficiency, productivity, accuracy and security for title plant operations. In 2002, version 5.0 of the program was released, offering advanced search analysis, integration with the AIM(R) for Windows(R) title and escrow production system and comprehensive reporting capabilities.

"We removed some of the tedious and time-consuming manual aspects from the research process, which is key for title companies to reduce expenses and decrease turnaround time," said Kent Weiand, president, Ultima Corp. "This will give researchers more time to use their expertise and judgment where it counts, instead of spending time manually analyzing and separating this data."

Advanced search analysis eliminates the need for title officers to manually tag and categorize exceptions that must be addressed before creating the title. It uses business rules to examine the items on the run sheet and automatically classify them by type. Suggested requirements and exceptions can be automatically transferred back to the AIM for Windows document preparation module.

With this integration, order information from AIM for Windows automatically populates TitleSearch's order screen. Based on that information, the program creates a run sheet and launches advanced search analysis.

TitleSearch also contains other innovative features including flexible reporting capabilities, a dynamic scan list, comprehensive indexing capabilities, detailed search functionality and real-time sight verification.

eTitleSearch
Combining the power of TitleSearch with the accessibility of the Internet, eTitleSearch lets users publish land records on the Internet through its secure, e-commerce-capable Web site. Version 2.5 of eTitleSearch was released in 2002.

"Publishing title plant information can increase revenue, expand market presence and improve customer service," Weiand said. "eTitleSearch offers advanced searching capabilities and high security. Modifications and additions to title plant information are uploaded daily, giving clients access to current information posted to your plant."

Since data and images are hosted at Ultima's Internet services center, users also benefit from valuable disaster recovery capabilities.

FileStor
FileStor is a single-source document-management solution for paper documents, computer files and more. It resides on the desktop and is easy to use for small offices or large enterprises. FileStor is the perfect complement to TitleSearch.

"FileStor can be customized to meet each office's individual needs," Weiand said. "Its powerful management features let users retrieve, edit, track, assign workflow and e-mail documents. Documents are easily retrievable using a variety of search criteria."

FileStor separates documents into easy-to-view folders, as well as document or index lists, making documents easy to find. The program's database also provides security and powerful reporting capabilities.
