Data Trace Strengthens Its Geographic Coverage in the Northeast

October 19, 2004

ANAHEIM, Calif., /PRNewswire/ -- Data Trace LLC announced its acquisition of New Jersey-based Accu-Search, Inc., further strengthening its presence in the Northeastern part of the country. Accu-Search will assume the Data Trace name.

Based in Keyport, N.J., part of the Newark metropolitan area, Accu-Search is a full-service provider of property data for the land and financial services community in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Since its inception in 1991, Accu-Search has grown to offer search services and online information covering 800 New Jersey and Pennsylvania municipalities.

The purchase will allow more customers in the region to use Data Trace's single-seat platform -- which eliminates the use of multiple software programs and streamlines employee training -- to access tax information, title plant indexes and images of recorded documents.

Data Trace entered the Northeast in 2002 with the acquisition of the New Jersey-based Current Status tax search business and a year later, expanded its network by purchasing Tyrrell Segal Research Associates and the New York-based Abstracters' Information Service tax and municipal lien search business.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome an outstanding company into the Data Trace family," says Mike Henney, Data Trace president. "By adding Accu-Search to our operations, we again demonstrate our commitment to the Northeast and to a true nationwide title-technology platform."

With coverage in 25 states and a title plant and tax database that includes 650 million records and 2 billion images, Data Trace maintains the broadest and most comprehensive title information system available. Data Trace, a joint venture company owned by The First American Corporation and LandAmerica Financial Group, provides technology that enables title insurance companies to connect regional title databases and access them using a standard software interface.
