Captive Insurance Company Act - corporation and associations may establish their own captive insurance companies - including title companies - in D.C.
Insurer Self Certificate Act - applicants can submit certification from an independent organization stating that it meets all requirements to sell insurance in D.C.

The D.C. Recorders Office is in its final beta testing phase of an on-line land records search site. Landata is providing the D.C. government with an automation system that will quickly search records by name, legal address, official document number and deliver documents to an e-mail or fax destination without using browser plug-ins. The two year automation project is expected to be rolled-out for customer use during the fall of 2000.
