First International Title Expands into New York

April 14, 2016

Florida-based First International Title has expanded its operations into New York. This latest move, along with the 2015 purchase of First Western Title in Texas, now provides the company with operations in three of the top four states in premiums written.

To assist with establishing operations in New York, the company has hired Charles Wimer as senior vice president. He will continue to expand the company’s commercial division as well as the national footprint. A veteran of the title insurance industry, he has a varied background having worked in both legal and business positions within the title insurance industry.

Wimer first worked in the legal end of the industry for almost 20 years in claims, underwriting, regulatory and ultimately as general counsel for an underwriter. Subsequently, he moved to the business side and was executive vice president and Northeast regional manager for Fidelity National Title Group, joining that company as they first entered the Northeast market.

“We’re excited that Charlie has joined the First International Title team,” said Jim Moran, First International Title’s chief executive officer. “Having worked with Charlie for many years, I look forward to him bringing his unique skill set to our company. His reputation is unparalleled and his proven track record of success is a welcome addition to our executive team.”
