Attorneys Title Agency Buys Stewart Title’s Direct Operations in Michigan

March 1, 2016

Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Attorneys Title Agency LLC (ATA) has acquired the direct operations of Stewart Title Co. in Michigan. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"This acquisition marries Stewart's financial security and market leadership in technology with ATA's local expertise and size," said ATA President William L. Robinson, Jr. "We're excited that it will enable us to diversify and offer a greater range of services to our customers, which reinforces our leadership position in the Michigan market."

As part of the transaction, ATA will add three locations and retain the majority of Stewart's former Michigan employees. ATA has more than 40 offices in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

As a direct result of this acquisition, ATA has established its National Relocation Services Division. This division will be managed by Jamie Novakowski.
