HA&W Completes Best Practice Testing for Title Agents Across the U.S.

November 19, 2015

HA&W LLP announced that an additional 12 firms have achieved ALTA Best Practice compliance through its ComplianceSuccess Program.

Each firm’s compliance testing and attestation reporting was conducted by the independent accounting firm of HA&W through its ComplianceSuccess Program. The program delivers independent third-party assurance using CPA professional standards.

HA&W provides multiple compliance offerings, including reviews, examinations, SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports and ISO 27001 certifications to accommodate specific lender requirements. The company said a review provides a level of assurance best suited for businesses with fewer than 300 residential closings per year and one to two escrow accounts. An examination report provides a level of assurance suitable for businesses with over 300 residential closings per year and three or more escrow accounts.

Firms that have completed a review include:

  • Choice Title Company Inc.
  • First Commerce Title Inc.
  • First Guaranty Title Inc.
  • Muncie & Mattson PC & Plains Title & Escrow LLC
  • Paulus National Closing Services Inc.
  • Paulus Title LLC
  • Raimondi & Associates LLC
  • Richard C. Mudrick Law Office
  • Stephens Millirons PC and Southern Title Services Inc.
  • Title Group of Tennessee
  • Tuscaloosa Title Company Inc.
  • Wagon Wheel Title and Escrow LLC

“There are a number of report types in the market today and much confusion over which report type will best suit one’s business. By choosing a CPA attestation report, these firms have peace of mind that they have received a report that is backed by professional standards and will stand up to the most stringent reporting requirements of their lenders,” said Lee Fields, managing director of HA&W’s ComplianceSuccess Program. “The road to compliance is a big investment. These agents wanted confidence that their testing report will be accepted by their lenders, ensuring that the time, resources and money spent in the process are a solid investment in their futures.”
